Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-08-25

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of https://neighborlegalsg.pro (the "Site") operated by NeighborLegal SG ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use.

1. About the Site

The Site provides general information about neighbour disputes in Singapore, anonymised case summaries, and details of our legal consultancy services. Content is prepared for residents of Singapore and is written in English (Singapore). The Site is intended for informational purposes and to facilitate contact with our team.

2. No lawyer–client relationship from browsing alone

Reading pages on the Site, including case summaries and FAQ sections, does not create a lawyer–client relationship. A formal engagement begins only when we confirm acceptance in writing (for example, a letter of engagement or fee agreement) after conflict checks and scope discussion. Until then, information you send may not be treated as privileged legal correspondence, although we handle enquiries confidentially as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Not legal advice

Articles, checklists, and anonymised examples illustrate common dispute patterns in HDB and condominium living. They are not substitutes for advice tailored to your facts. Neighbour disputes turn on specific evidence, house rules, by-laws, and prior conduct. Do not rely on the Site as the sole basis for decisions affecting your housing, safety, or legal rights. Seek personalised guidance before issuing formal letters, filing tribunal applications, or altering your conduct toward a neighbour.

4. Permitted use

You may view, download, and print Site pages for personal, non-commercial reference. You may link to our homepage using a fair and accurate description of our services. You may not:

  • Scrape, mirror, or systematically reproduce substantial portions of the Site without written permission;
  • Remove copyright or attribution notices;
  • Use the Site to transmit unlawful, harassing, or defamatory material;
  • Attempt to interfere with Site security or availability;
  • Misrepresent affiliation with NeighborLegal SG or imply endorsement where none exists.

5. Contact form and communications

The contact form on contact.php allows you to send enquiries to [email protected]. By submitting the form you confirm that information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you have authority to share any third-party details included. You agree not to submit malicious code, spam, or content that infringes others’ rights.

We aim to acknowledge enquiries within two business days during office hours (Mon–Fri 09:00–18:00 SGT). Response times may vary during public holidays or peak periods. Submission does not guarantee that we will accept your matter — conflict checks, capacity, and scope fit are assessed individually.

6. Fees and services

Descriptions of services on the Site are overview summaries. Fees, deliverables, and timelines are specified in engagement letters, not on public pages. We do not process payments through this Site. Any future payment instructions will be provided through secure, agreed channels during engagement.

7. Intellectual property

Text, layout, graphics, and branding on the Site are owned by or licensed to NeighborLegal SG unless otherwise stated. Third-party fonts and map tiles remain subject to their respective licences. You receive no licence beyond personal viewing except as expressly allowed in these Terms.

8. Anonymised case summaries

Case summaries combine and alter real-world patterns to educate readers without identifying individuals or specific units. They must not be treated as precedents guaranteeing similar outcomes. Names, locations, and timelines are illustrative. Outcomes depend on mediation willingness, evidence quality, and applicable rules at the time of dispute.

9. Third-party links and embeds

The Site may link to government resources, mediation centres, or mapping services. We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or privacy practices. Google Maps on our contact page is provided for convenience; use is subject to Google’s terms.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, though we maintain reasonable security measures.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Site or reliance on its content. Our aggregate liability for direct damages related to Site use shall not exceed SGD 100 unless a higher amount is mandated by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is prohibited.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NeighborLegal SG and its personnel from claims arising out of your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights through content you submit.

13. Privacy and cookies

Personal data handling is described in our Privacy Policy. Cookie use is described in our Cookie Policy. Those documents form part of your agreement when using the Site.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts for disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or Site use, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

15. Changes

We may revise these Terms by posting an updated version on the Site with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. We encourage periodic review, especially before submitting new enquiries through our contact form.

16. Severability

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. We will replace an invalid provision with a valid one that most closely reflects the original intent where permitted by law.

17. Entire agreement for Site use

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding use of the Site. They supersede prior oral or written understandings about Site access, except where a separate written engagement letter governs professional services.

18. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion does not waive our right to enforce it on another occasion. Any waiver of rights must be in writing and signed by an authorised representative of NeighborLegal SG.

19. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations in connection with a reorganisation, merger, or sale of assets, provided that the assignee agrees to honour these Terms.

21. Language

These Terms are written in English (Singapore). If translated versions are provided for convenience, the English version prevails in case of inconsistency. Defined terms used on the Site have the meanings given in these Terms unless the context requires otherwise.

22. Survival

Provisions that by their nature should survive termination of your access — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and governing law — remain in effect after you stop using the Site or delete your account, if any.
